Dr. John Louis

Mental health care is more than a profession for Dr. John Louis—it is a calling. He believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to feel well mentally, physically, and spiritually, and to experience joy in their everyday life.

Dr. Louis takes an integrated, whole-person approach to treatment. He believes that every patient has a unique story, and he takes the time to truly listen and understand each individual's circumstances, and develop a personalized treatment plan that aligns with their goals and overall health. By combining evidence-based medication management with practical lifestyle strategies, he helps patients achieve meaningful, lasting improvements in their mental well-being.

Dr. John Louis, DNP, PMHNP-BC, APRN, earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Augusta University in 2022. With experience in both acute inpatient psychiatry and outpatient practice, he brings a broad clinical perspective to the treatment of complex mental health conditions. He specializes in caring for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, and other psychiatric disorders, providing thoughtful medication management while recognizing that effective mental health care extends far beyond prescriptions alone.

Dr. Louis recognizes that while medication can be an important part of treatment, it isn't always meant to be lifelong. When appropriate, he enjoys partnering with patients who have reached a place in their recovery where reducing or discontinuing medication can be done safely and thoughtfully. His goal is to help patients achieve lasting wellness while using the least amount of medication necessary to support their mental health.

Outside of the office, John enjoys spending time with his wife, their children, their dog, and their flock of chickens. He loves traveling, hunting, making memories with family and friends, and serving in his local church.

Dr. Louis would be honored to partner with you on your journey toward loving the life you live.
