Natalie Adams, LAPC

I see therapy as a space where two “fellow travelers,” in Irvin Yalom’s words, walk side by side through the terrain of your inner world. My approach is eclectic, but the heartbeat of my work is humanistic and psychodynamic. I’m here to understand how you came to be who you are, what experiences have shaped you, and where you feel most stuck or in conflict. While much of my work is insight-oriented, I also incorporate practical tools, including DBT and CBT skills, to help you build measurable goals you can use in daily life. My hope is that we can create a space where we can explore, grieve, laugh, question, and grow without having to leave any part of yourself at the door.

I work with teens (15+) and adults navigating life’s difficulties in its many forms. Much of my experience has been with survivors of domestic violence, helping individuals rebuild trust in themselves after painful and disorienting relationships. I also have a strong interest in working with clients processing religious trauma, a focus informed by my graduate research and ongoing training in this area. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and am committed to creating a space where LGBTQ+ clients feel seen, respected, and supported. I also work with couples seeking to understand each other more deeply, whether they’re mending fractures or simply wanting to strengthen their connection.

I received my Master of Science in Psychology from Augusta University, as well as my Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I am currently in the process of obtaining my Associate Counseling license and am working under the supervision of Hana Perkey.
