Michelle Hooks

Michelle is a Marriage and Family Therapy master’s level clinician working toward licensure under the supervision of Vanessa Snyder, PhD. She earned her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Amridge University and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Florida.

Michelle enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families, with a focus on strengthening relationships through improved communication, healthy boundaries, and practical tools for navigating conflict. She believes that relationships are central to emotional well-being and that meaningful change happens when people feel supported, understood, and empowered to break unhelpful cycles.

Her therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and nurturing. Michelle incorporates principles from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and helps couples understand how attachment patterns influence their interactions, emotional needs, and relationship dynamics. By increasing awareness of these patterns, clients can move toward more secure, connected relationships.

Michelle has completed Level 1 Training in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy and holds a certificate in the Fundamentals of Emotionally Focused Therapy. She integrates these evidence-based approaches to help couples build stronger emotional bonds and healthier communication. She is also a Certified SYMBIS Facilitator and offers premarital counseling and relationship enrichment using the SYMBIS assessment.

Michelle creates a safe, supportive space for clients navigating parenting challenges, family dynamics, and relational stress. She is passionate about helping individuals and families foster deeper connection, resilience, and long-term relational health.

Outside of the therapy office, Michelle enjoys serving at her church and spending time with friends and family over a good meal. When she’s not working with clients, you can often find her cuddling her dog or relaxing poolside with her family.
